Isn't Fox also the old guy who is about or has turned 65 and doesn't want to leave his job. I could be wrong and confusing him with another old guy from CAL management.
Now as far as parking all those 757s and replacing them with ordered -900, who cares.
First there are contractual issues with replacements and ratios and stuff (maybe there is a need for a new contract). Second they need to be replaced because they are getting old. And third the bad part is the -900 will never be a direct replacement for the 757.
The -900 can't ETOPS from DEN to HNL.
The -900 can't even go from the East Coast to SFO without a fuel stop if the winds are bad and one needs an alternate.
I could go on but neither Boeing nor Bus makes a direct replacement for the 757.
Hey but there is good news! The -900 has a smaller cockpit with worse jump seats... Oh that's bad news, no place to store bags either....
It's a sad day when we keep Fox and park 757s
