I heard earlier from the manager of pilot hiring that they planned to hire for attrition only at about 17-19 a month for the rest of the year.
That's good to hear, but it's important to remember projected hiring is always written in pencil, especially right now. If the economy takes a dump in the second half of the year as some economists are now beginning to think, the projections for attrition hiring go out the door. Still, expecting to hire in the high teens for the rest of the year is a good thing, not a bad thing.
