No, what happened was they intentionally scheduled a meeting over a HOLIDAY weekend 50 minutes away from the airport so hardly anybody could attend even if they wanted too! There was a list of over 60+ pilots who were in contact with others that wanted to vote for recall but could not get a proxy carrier because nobody could attend this intentionally ridiculous meeting time/location..

Then they used illegal means to win the vote with illegal proxy votes. They had a company paid employee, a crew scheduler, handing out and collecting proxy votes in the crew room. Signed by pilots without having the proxy carrier name listed at the time of signing (which is a violation of the interpretation of ALPA constitution and by-laws).

Interpretation of the Executive Council: The Executive Council, at its December 2000 meeting,
interpreted Article III, Section 3G as follows: “Proxy forms under Article III, Section 3G of the
Constitution and By-Laws must be completed in their entirety and signed by the member giving
the proxy, including the name of the proxy holder, when the form is signed.
They also had a negotiating team member handing out proxy forms and telling people to put them in the ALPA box in the crew room. Proxy carrier names were not listed this time either. Plenty of people witnessed this. At the meeting, they had a bunch of previously filled out and signed proxy votes asking people in attendance to fill in their name as proxy carriers. Illegal again, same as above. Also using the ALPA box to stuff votes for only one side is obviously a violation of improper ALPA resource uses.

As per constitution and By-laws they were required to (regular mail) out a meeting notification for a special recall meeting to EVERY member of 133 no later than 15 days in advance of the meeting. I still have not talked to one person that received one in the mail. One person claims to have gotten one on another forum post, but at least 15 people I asked personally never did. Along with everyone else on the forum stating they never received it. So this is another major violation of the rules.

ALPA Constitution and By-Laws Article III section 3:
(2) Notice of regular Local Council meetings called to consider Nomination of Representatives, as provided in Section 7B of this Article, or to consider Nomination and Election of an Interim Status Representative, as provided in Section 2E of this Article, or to consider recall of a Local Council Representative or Officer, as provided in Section 2F of this Article, or to vote on a Local Council assessment in accordance with Article IX, Section 7B, shall be mailed by the Vice President-Administration/Secretary to each member at his last known home address not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of such meeting.
There was also NO time listed on the meeting notification as required by constitution and by-laws either.

This whole thing was rigged from the start.
