FDNY doesn't pay much better although I'd love to have their schedules! Most guys on the job(fire and police) I know work elsewhere at least on some of their days off to supplement their sh!tty income. Suffolk County PD on the other hand...you start at 60K and are over 100K, not including OT and night differential, by year 5. They're having a test this Spring.
