Considering the very costly high-cycle heavy check, they would have to create oil to be worth it. These one-time overhauls are supposedly so cost-prohibitive, it's cheaper to just buy a used one on the black market. I don't know if Delta has even done one yet; Comair's aircraft were just scrapped.
