That's one way to deal with a HKG assignment. Kind of expensive, though, and not conducive to getting good rest before and between trips. Not that the company gives a rat's a$$ about that, apparently.
If said Class B bachelor happens to reside in one of the 20 states that ban discrimination in employment compensation and bennies based on marital status, said pilot has a cause of action against FDX if said pilot can't take the HA when identical new hires who don't have a marriage license can get this extra $4500/mo, plus 1000# shipment of household goods. Probably not advisable to mention this at the interview. Of course if you did, and that was the only reason FDX didn't hire you (challenging to prove), that in itself would be marital status discrimination. Which, by the way, is against the company's own policy, or so they'd like their shareholders to think.
