I was at the road show and was very close to the "incident."

Here's what went down (BTW, I don't know either individuals involved and I'm not taking sides in the argument; however, in the interest of full disclosure, I am voting yes on the TA).

After the presentations were made, the floor was opened for questions. The very first person was an ATL 7ER pilot (he didn't specify CA or FO). This person was very unhappy with the TA and he made some very valid arguments (namely, he flies all over the world, to malaria-infested areas, yet this TA still pays him initially less than a SWA 737 pilot). This got a lot of agreement from the audience.

The exchange between TO and this person became kind of testy, with the guy repeatedly talking over TO's attempt to answer his concerns. The crowd began to grumble and someone from the back yelled "Let him answer the question," referring to TO, which got several yeas from the audience. At this point, the 7ER pilot turned to to the back and said "wait your turn at the microphone, d!ckhe@d." This was immediately greeted with a barrage of boos from the audience. At that point, a captain in uniform confronted the 7ER pilot, words were exchanged and ALPA people intervened. TO called for calm and allowed the 7ER guy to finish asking his question (I don't remember what it was due to the drama). The guy finished and then went to the back where some sort of physical altercation occurred between the 7ER guy and the uniformed captain. I didn't see the whole thing so I don't know if fist flew, but it was definitely some sort of shoving match. Again, ALPA folks intervened and the whole thing was taken outside.

From my perspective, it was a sad commentary on our pilot group. In my opinion, the 7ER pilot was out of line. It's one thing to disagree with the TA and I respect that, but the use of profanity was uncalled for, considering there were wives (and someone later told me, kids in the audience). Whatever credibility he had when he started his questions went right out the window. Fortunately, the rest of the Q&A went much more professionally, but I thought it was a sad day for our pilot group.
