But they don't check his cholesterol, or % artery obstruction. Obesity = higher risk for sudden incapacitation. How much risk is too much? I don't know, but different countries have different tolerances.
US medical standards seem adequate...we occasionally have a guy incapacitate in the cockpit but so far the co-pilot has somehow always managed to land the plane (they even train co-pilots for that!). At least in 121...single-pilot commercial and private ops have lost a few hulls.
