The financial benefits of whipsawing are such that we'd never see those planes even if our costs were lower than the aggregate costs of the lowest low ball bidder.
Not only that, but conversely we don't have to be cheaper than the low ball bidders to justify a plane being flown at mainline. Just because there is someone out there willing to underbid us doesn't give them everlasting exclusivity to a 90 seater with 76 seats installed any more than it does any other seat range from 77 to 900+ because the low ballers will always low ball DL pilots on cost for any plane in existance. Yet that doesn't mean every plane has to be flown at their costs to be justified at mainline. It is purely a matter of management giving flying to whoever is cheaper whenever they are permitted by our contract to do so.
