Is slaphappy from Mesa or Trans States? What crappy alpa carrier did you work for?
I know everyone likes to bash SkyWest around here, but I don't think the majority of people at SkyWest enjoy flying planes that were taken from ASA, Comair, etc. I know I don't want to because in five years, it could be us losing planes. Fortunately, we have a good product and our payscale allows us to be competitive for bidding. Everyone on here keeps talking about how our payscale is keeping the industry down. There is more to flying than just a payscale, which everyone keeps forgetting. I would much rather fly at SkyWest where the attitude is pretty good, although it seems to be lessening. If you fly or have flown where all everyone does is complain, it makes for a long four day trip. It also isn't very much fun to go fly, which I thought this is what the job is all about.
I am making as much money at SkyWest than at Trans States, where Trans States paid $2.25 more per hour.
I haven't heard anyone on here bashing US Airways pilots, they are going to be flying E190s for $95/hour at 16 year pay. SkyWest flies the 700/900 for $93/hour with the override at 16 year pay and RAH payscale for the E190 is $106/hour. So why aren't you guys going after US Airways pilots for keeping "us" down? And they are ALPA, so why don't they have a higher pay rate?
