What we are doing with scope can't be undone in future negotiations. Once we do this, it's done. Scope is both good and bad. It's good that we are getting rid of a bunch of 50 seaters even though it was management who over committed to an aircraft that A) passengers hated and B) doesn't make money. It seems it's up to us to dig them out of their poor management decisions with concessions in Section 1. I think the bad part of the good/bad comparison of scope is exponentially worse than the good. We are allowing more 76 seaters than twice the size of Compass. These 76 seaters are on air frames certified to 90 seats. I think the "steady improvement" scenario favors the Company on this issue. My guess is that there will be future erosion of the 76 seaters as we have the certified air frames for higher seats. This is not just the camels nose under the tent. It's pretty much the whole camel, humps and all. Have we abandoned the well being of the profession?

I very much appreciate the input of pilots I trust and respect. On the scope issue, I respectfully disagree.
