As for your other concerns, that is something to think about as well. However has anything ever happened to the crews of the numerous other drug busts, some of them massive, coming off airplanes?
Most airlines fly turns to many of these destinations with a relief pilot. Our contract does not allow for that on the aircraft in use. They could not fly it with a heavy crew. They would have to dual crew the aircraft.
