Question for you guys. Not flaming but honestly curious. What cost index are you guys flying at? 3 times in the last month I have been flying enroute and on approach behind your flights and we were slowed way back. WX not really an issue. I did ask one flight going into BOS and they said cost index was 8. Is that standard?

I don't really care how fast or slow I fly (unless I forgot to pee before top of descent and we have holding coming up) but since we fly the same type of jets I wondered why the severe speed disparity. At LCC we use cost index 35. At AWA it was 55. Some of our guys use 999 (why? "because it doesn't go any higher").
