Actually it was just a rapid shift in flying. Delta was awarding ASA tons of flying and the company had not prepared for it staffing wise. Mostly because Delta liked the fact that we promised to be the second cheapest regional carrier in the DCI system. Now Delta is rapidly taking it back and awarding it to the cheapest regional carrier. Although these might not be perfectly accurate facts, it's a little closer to the truth than just shortly staffed.
The regionals really shot themselves in the foot if they are going to need people and cannot find them. I think in the end the mighty share holder will once again win. Sad
