Therein the two differences in cultures. The crj side is drowning in the kool aid, and yet no one can publicly post any numbers that support that the ERJ contract (and further gains) are not cost effective. On the ERJ side we understand that the job of the pilot is to fly the aircraft safely within company policies and guidelines, not keeping the company afloat, Jerry gets paid a lot more money than we do to manage this "thuper" regional.
So when, exactly, did I ever say, or even elude to the possibility, that it is the pilots job to keep the company profitable? Never. I said I wanted to work for a profitable company, because I would like to remain employed. I actually enjoy my job, and would like to continue to do it here until Delta calls. I can't do that, and neither can you, if we don't have a profitable company. I have not quoted specifics, or eluded to knowing any of the facts pertaining to our TA. I was, however, involved in business for 20 years prior to coming here where I was responsible for multi million dollar projects, so I think when I suggest that we need to look at the entire TA objectively, I have some unique life experience that lends considerable credibility to that statement. I'm not a kool aid drinker, but I am a realist who has had to make payroll every Friday. It makes you look at things differently.
