It's naive to think we're all asking for a bulletproof, insanely exaggerated contract like that. But, why should we accept anything worse than what we currently have? Where does it end? Are you saying we should all take pay cuts to compete? Should we get rid of cancellation pay? Maybe we shouldn't get paid for deadheads? Or ferry flights should be 50%? Maybe captains and FOs should be paid the same? Maybe reserves shouldn't get a monthly guarantee? Etc...
I think it's in our best interest to look out for our own best interest.
Im sorry if us at ASA have such a terrible contract compared to you. We get cancellation pay, we get paid 100% for DH and ferry flights, Captains obviously get paid far higher.. You are taking it to the other extreme. We want something better than what we have, not something worse, you don't need to suggest GoJet style crap. We just dont want something thats head and shoulders above the whole industry, look at Comair. This isn't a normal industry with normal treatment of employees, its crap, but if you want something better go to mainline. Otherwise all you do is price your self out of a job. No one wants to stay at a regional their whole life, so dont act like if you dont get a great contract your whole life is ruined, things will get better but not if you the highest priced guy in an outsourced industry.
