On a similar note Steve Jobs said that as long as everyone on one team is good at their job then there is no strife and performance is excellent. As soon as you get one person that is lacking then it falls apart.

After hearing that I've noticed very clearly how true this is in our profession. Look around the next time you're on a flight and someone (pilot or FA) is weak and everyone else is strong. It's an unhappy crowd.
