I didn't vote for obama last time, I'm not planning it this time. I'm not saying people can't change their mind. I just don't see how Romney, of all people, or the republicans are going to do anything different. It doesn't matter anyways because my first statement still is true, this plan was brought to you by conservatives.
Let me ask you this, you spit on this plan now but 20 years ago would you have been championing this then conservative plan?
To be honest this mandate thing with regard to health insurance was never on my radar until Obama Care. I've heard of the mandate for car insurance, which I like but if a person does not like auto insurance mandate THEN HE SHOULD NOT DRIVE A CAR. Back to Obama Care; There are currently 30 million (from what I read) without health care, mostly young healthy individuals and for the poor, there is Medicaid. So what Obama Care attemps to do is force health insurance on everybody without even considering market based options, like purchasing insurance across state lines. Why would that result in lower costs? Because each state MANDATES what will be included in a health care policy. Like for example: Alcohol Programs, Chiropractic and acupuncture and many other mandated items. How do those mandates actually become a specific mandate? Through lobbyists - Chiropractic Lobby, Alcohol Treatment Lobby's etc. So maybe you could buy a basic policy, in say, Alabama that covers basic care and catostropic health issues but not chiropractic, acupuncture etc for a lot cheaper. And maybe ObamCare could have done something to medical malpractice tort reform - but they did not because they "Had to pass it to see what was in it"
