He's a tool for not knowing that if someone else beats you to the jumpseat fair and square (or just has it out of higher priority) you kind of need to respectfully and humbly plead your case. I have a flight to somewhere super duper important like London you little RJ guy doesn't cut it. Especially if he was only allowing himself one flight that he would have known was full had he checked into it even a little bit.

If someone else rightfully has the jumpseat and you, for whatever reason, really really want/need it, you better be prepared to be super nice about it and respectful when you beg them to voluntarily give it up to accommodate you. Especially if you are in the middle of a self induced crisis due to your own questionable planning. You need to grovel, and you need to be cool with it if the other person says no.
