Disgruntled? Um, did you kindly remind him that SWA was stagnant as far as growth goes before the merger? Their own CEO publically stated that they needed to buy us inorder to grow again. We on the other hand were still growing granted at a reduced rate.

If anything this should help his relative seniority. If he was in the bottom 368 (out of about 5900 original SWA pilots), he just got 1,100 AirTran pilots put on top of him and another 635 AirTran pilots put underneath him. Run the numbers, he just moved up in relative seniority, not to mention the growth opportunities that the merger has created for his new airline.

-5,900 original SWA pilots...if he was 368 from the bottom that puts him at 5,532 or 93.7% relative seniority before the merger.

- 7,950 pilots on the new list which includes both AirTran and SWA new-hires. If he had 1,100 AirTran pilots put above him then there were 635 left over which were put below him, so his new position should be about 6,632 out of 7,950 making his new relative seniority 83.4%.

Yeah, he's got a lot to ***** about moving up 10% in relative seniority. Maybe he needs a little reminder that he probably wouldn't have upgraded anyway at a standalone SWA. If he was in the bottom 368 of their list premerger that means that he was basically a new-hire. He just got over a third of the AirTran pilots put behind him and he's still *****ing?

Not suprised. Typical SWA mentality.
