CAL MEC Update (From the Chairman) July 12, 2012
Dear Fellow Pilots:
On Wednesday, along with ALPA President Captain Lee Moak and Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) Co-Chairmen Phil Otis and Dave Owens, we met with National Mediation Board (NMB) member Linda Puchala and our two mediators. The NMB thanked the pilot groups for complying with the NMB’s informal gag order on negotiations. The group then discussed the current state of negotiations and possible solutions for bringing these negotiations to conclusion.
Management will have a similar meeting with the NMB today. Following the conclusion of that meeting, the NMB will come back to the parties with suggestions for the process going forward. As soon as we have more information on future negotiations, we will pass it on to you.
