I can't even believe this argument. If they want us to check in fine, but there is no reason why it can't be at the gate. If I would have to go all the way to the crew room and back to check in, I would literally have to leave my house 1 hour earlier to ensure I made it within the window. Is there any other job where workers wouldn't demand to be paid if they had to leave their homes 2 hours before their shift started? Give me a break. I'm so tired of the mentality of today's pilots. The way most pilots are nowadays is honestly my biggest complaint out of everything else. I can deal with all the BS to an extent, but having to listen to all these a-holes who feel entitled to everything and are constantly willing to suck off management to stay competitive is enough to make you sick. If are so worried about making a company cost competitive, go to business school and get a job in management so it can be your job. I'm not sitting back and letting this career degrade further and further. Pay us what we're worth, stop trying to pull these BS policies that make us lose even more of our time without paying us, and for Gods sake, stop trying to preach to us how we need to cut costs to stay competitive while you get in your mercedes and drive to your million dollar house on the lake and board your yaht for dinner while we go home and collect our $2000 monthly check.
