No you should not get it first. What our system dictates is that you get your preferences looked at first. See the difference? The same happens with upgrade. If there are DTW CA slots open and your bid only has ATL CA on it then you won't upgrade but somebody below you with DTW CA will. Seniority did it's job and looked at you first. If you both have DTW CA in your bid and the junior pilot gets it then this is unacceptable. However this isn't happening.
You can argue against the award logic of PBS all day long. I don't disagree that it needs to be improved to reduce the impact of conflicts. But it sure as hell is not dishonoring seniority by awarding anything to anybody after your schedule has been completed. It simply looked at you first.
