They consider themselves in the LCC category, but they offer a full first class cabin (and services), along with an 'Economy Plus' product. Not exactly the 178 seats stuffed in a A320 kinda airline. Profits are elusive, but Branson has a vision for VX, and until Branson's ownership (49%) changes, or his controlling share (25% changes), VX will probably be around. If they were really concerned, then they would start doing things to conserve money and perhaps look for a merger partner. Apparently, management has said a big 'no' to AMR.
