I'm sure you meant this, but for all the lurkers out there who get their contract knowledge from reading APC:
ALV isn't when you are done... It is when you reach your
reserve guarantee , which is normally ALV -2:00, and much lower when you have CQ or vacation.
Clamp would actually be done if he was "just under ALV" (i.e. his accumulated credit is within 2:00 of ALV).
