While I agree with most of what you say, the ATL base thing is not necessarily true. The CRJ side of the house is currently training new hires. IF, and of course it's a big if, the SLI is not truely years away as some say, a current ERJ pilot may have the opportunity to move to ATL as an FO once the SLI is done. I am pretty sure the ASA side has dozens of pilots willing to do base trades. And I would be shocked if the fences protect FO's.
