He had gone through my captain and we were now going to pickup that part of the trip and then DH to our oringinal destination to finish the rest of our rotation. This turned a sch 6.10 hr day into a sch day 9.37 (actual was 10) and due to the amt of credit on the trip, we made nothing extra.

So my question is since I cannot find where it says I am responsible to be on some telephone recall while on a layover, what would happen if I did not take the call and showed as originally planned?

No, you are not responsible to be contactable on a layover but, if you do answer, they most likely have you. As a Captain, if I answer the phone, my first question is whether my FO has been contacted yet, if not, then I wont commit until I talk to him/her...... You can draw your own conclusions from that! I want to help the company out as much as possible but will not agree to the reroute until we are both aware of it and in agreement......
