I don't know the magic formula for getting the phone interview, but they seem to cast a fairly wide net. Based on what I've seen with my interview group and the classes I've met, I'd say about 50% RJ guys, 25% mil and 25% cargo, plus an occasional corporate guy. Mostly RJ captains, but several FOs (some with 121 PIC, some with none). Most have lots of time, even the FOs were 5-7 year guys, at least. I think guys with previous int'l/cargo/heavy time get called up sooner, but I know an RJ FO with no PIC who got called a heckuva lot sooner than I did. Do as well as you can in every phase of the interview process to shorten your pool time. I don't know if it helps, but I'd get some face time if HR goes to a job fair.
