ExpressJet is a good company. One of the best. I will not bash them. But SkyWest is right on the same list with ExpressJet, Horizon, Republic...

Lets look at the difference between 50 and 70 seat pay at regionals that have two different pay scales, and lets see how it compares to Skywest's soon to be 10% override. For comparison, lets look at 5th year captain.

American Eagle:
70 seat = $71
50 seat = $68
4.5% difference
No override for FO

ASA:
70 seat = $68
50 seat = $62
9.5% difference

Comair: (Before paycut)
70 seat = $78
50 seat = $71
9.5% difference (scheduled to come down soon)

Mesa:
70 seat = $62
50 seat = $59
5% difference
No override for FO

Republic:
70 seat = $69
50 seat = $66
4.5% difference
No override for FO

Skywest (using 5% override)
70 seat = $67
50 seat = $64
5% difference

I am sorry. I just don't see a big difference between Skywest and other carriers. The override is inline with other carriers at 5%, and it is to increase to 10%!

Lets look at ExpressJet's "overrride" from the 135 to the 145.
EMB-145 = $68
EMB-135 = $62
9.5% difference
No overrride for FO

I think you are wrong about the override. Skywest is a good company. One of the best out there. Slaphappy is a moron. He is on my ignore list. I recommend you put him there too. Then stop bashing Skywest.
