Has anyone else been hearing this supposed rumor of the FAA raising the retirement age to 67? My captain today said that the majors were lobbying with the FAA to raise it to 67 in order to alleviate their "training burden" that they will have upcoming. I guess since ICAO retirement age is 67 that the US carriers want the same rule.

Here's my thoughts:

1) Please don't raise it and make these guys retire starting Dec 13, 2012

2). If they do raise it, make our FAA physical actually something like running at least a mile on the treadmill in under 10 minutes so they weed out these guys

3). If you are of around the 65 age, you've had an extra 5 years to recover from the stock market/housing problem/multiple divorces. Move on already!

P.S. My captain is only 48, so he's just as upset about this info. I will try to get a name of the lobbyist to verify info
