There was a agreement to wet lease shuttle aircraft from Pan Am for the period 1 Sep to 1 Nov when the merger actually took place and Delta took ownership of both the shuttle and Atlantic operations.. The purchase agreement was in mid august and it was impossible to complete any merger agreements prior to 1 Sep.
The Shuttle was operated by Delta on 1 Sep 1991. The PAA pilots/FEO's were given Delta ID's and operated the Shuttle. The FEO's were placed on the seniority list as of 1 Nov 1991 after the new hires that were hired from 1 Sep to 31 Oct 1991.
