I've never worn long sleeves because I don't like them, but what's the rage against them? We drop lile flies from melanoma compared to the general population yet anyone daring to wear sleeves is taken to task for it for no real reason. What gives?
I wore them....when I was based in BOS, flying to YUL and ORD in the winter, I was going to be doing walk arounds in the snow. But after that (cold) base was closed, I moved to FL and now fly mostly to places at or near to the equator (HKG, SIN, DXB) so I'm soaking wet on a walk around, even in short sleeves.
I know of only one guy who wears long sleeves, year round, to ward off radiation, per his doctors orders, he's had some skin issues. It's probably a good idea, but just too hot for me on most of my trips, even in January.
Maybe we can get Columbia to make up some of those light weight, long sleeved fishing shirts, with epaulettes, to keep the sun off and keep cool too.
