Look - I possibly lost my shot at the majors due to this rule and my age, but I don't advocate using numbers to force someone out to benefit myself. These guys/gals have mortgages, kids in college, multiple ex's, lost pensions and lower salaries. They are doing what they need to do, and you should do the same.
To answer your question, contact your Congressman/woman and ask them to start the process of changing it.
