I have no problem with it, depends on where you commute from. I just moved from NW CO to central NC. My commute used to be an 8-9 hr evolution, now its 3-4hrs. I always list my self as "First Fly" on my first night on reserve, with the hope of getting assigend a trip (usually assigned by 1030a CT the morning prior) that I can contractually, with protection if the flight makes me late, jumpseat into. If I get assigned an international trip, or no trip, I will cancel my jumpseat on FedEx and catch the NWA flight that leaves in the afternoon. If the assigned trip has a deadhead, I save a day of travel. I can often "sneak" home for a couple days each month due to 1N7s and 48hr buffers after longer trips! Of course, I have a crashpad and airport car.
