Would you purpsoely drop a 10 day trip with DH's on it? You might, but most commuters won't. Would you prefer you recurrent training of 2 days conflict with a 12 day INTL trip with DH's?Again, you might, but most commuters won't and don't. and 70 % of us are commuters.

Lets also not forget (especially if you are on reserve) that carry over credit is not factored in to how the RLG is calculated, dispite the fact that we have R lines with significant carry over. If it was, you reserve folks would make a couple more hours of RLG for the same days worked, as of now it is a free bie to the company.

And let's not forget the more Junior lineholder commuter . His schedule may show 14 days off but in reality he will work much much if he has a 4 o5 departure line. Part of a commuters bane.

As Sean said, you NEVER have to work more days than 15/19. If a double deadhead is your price to work additional days at straight pay, then that's your choice... but you're never REQUIRED to. Ditto training. Carryover R days mean that your next month (if you get another R line) will have those carryover R days as work days, but others later in the month will be dropped to preserve min days off, unless you waive that. Again, your choice.
