I'm also looking to get out of my old (original Sprint EVO.) My family is totally an Apple family sans iPhones. I made a similar request on my FB and all replies were pro iPhone except 3 (out of 36.) Here is a reply from a good friend I went to HS w/ and who is a current DAL F/A:

I have the new Evo LTE. It's wicked fast, holds a charge for a ridiculous amount of time (that was a big problem with the old Evo), has the best phone camera to date, a screen that's more than an inch bigger than the iPhone, a faster processor, double the RAM, built-in FM radio, Flash support, NFC (which will become very common within a year), perfect Gmail integration, a kickstand (something I loved from the last Evo), turn-by-turn voice navigation. And something the iPhone will never have without hacking it and voiding the warranty, then paying for a costly app; the ability to tether your cell phone and use it as a wireless router for your laptop using FoxFi, for free. Which comes in super handy if you're a traveler.
My lady has the iPhone 4. I use hers from time to time and am always disappointed. From a objective standpoint, the two don't even compare. The iPhone 4 is old tech. But I the iPhone 5 is sure to be remarkable. If you can wait until it comes out in a month or two, you'll probably have a fair comparison.

I was sold on getting a 4S but am now rethinking the new EVO LTE.
