My DAL class was 55% Part 121 regional, 25% military, and the rest corporate/private types. Of the military, most had heavy backgrounds (DC-10, B737, B707, BE1900, BE400, MU300, GIV, GV typed).
I know of two people (one at DAL, one at CAL) who did not have 1000 PIC when they were hired. They of course were related to high echelon management types.
Yep. First that was never sat left seat. They were hired direct out of the right seat to Delta. This was around 2010 when they opened the window briefly and hired a few. Caused some head scratching around my regional cause a lot of folks have been waiting years and felt, rightly so, that they had been passed by. On the other hand, if anyone can make the jump regardless of seat position more power to them.
