Good deals on hotels can be had too. I'd say on average if I get a hotel, the price out the door is around $65 or so.
I can see why everyone is jumping on the 'only dumbasses commute' bus, but you don't always know someone's situation.
For instance, I have a free crashpad with free transportation and free food/beer when I get there if it is ever needed when I can't commute out the same day. I can also pick up trips from the base that I actually live in now that I will be a line holder. I will increase my pay significantly. Unlike most people I actually enjoy my job.
I know, *** and I doing on here speaking such sadistic ideas.
75hrs + 200hrs perdiem = $3040
95hrs + 450hrs perdiem = $4170
So really, will I commute to pay my mortgage plus some? Yes.
