My 0.02 Cents
I am on call 25 days a month. I make mid 70`s on the left seat of a light jet 135. I would love to go to Delta/Continental/United/Ups, but they have not called yet. I am not too happy with my lifestyle (immagine that!). I don't think another 1000/1500 hours PiC on my current plane are going to make too much of difference (it will still be a light jet 135). Should I:
1 Apply to the Spirit/JB/VA, get a type, learn a new plane and 3 years from now be more competitive for the Legacy and enjoy some kind of a schedule if it take 5 years to get a call
or
2 Stay at my present job, keep being unhappy with it and hope that the phone starts ringing?
I think i am worth as much at the next guy, but i also think that sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward.
