DAL is in the beginning stages of a several year process to re-create itself. Imagine the cost savings if we didn't have 8 or 9 Regionals, Managements, Infrastructure, Maintenance...ect. The DAL pilot group could easily be 24,000....and even on reserve as a plug on the smallest equipment....it'd be a better job than any RJ Captain at xyz regional. Been there, done that and don't ever want to go back. I want everyone at mainline. The sooner the better.
Dude wholly owned outsourcing is still outsourcing. You realize that the regional elite folks are being forced to take paycuts now to keep doing the same job they had been doing, right? Take that forward 5 years, what prevents Delta from starting "Superior Ground Service" and shutting down DGS? Outsourcing is outsourcing. Churning the butter is nothing to be appluaded.

This is why SCOPE is so damn important. A group without scope faces the continual threat of having their job done by someone else for $3 less per hour. I flew with an RJ capt last week who no joke asked me "what's scope?"
