DAL is in the beginning stages of a several year process to re-create itself. Imagine the cost savings if we didn't have 8 or 9 Regionals, Managements, Infrastructure, Maintenance...ect. The DAL pilot group could easily be 24,000....and even on reserve as a plug on the smallest equipment....it'd be a better job than any RJ Captain at xyz regional. Been there, done that and don't ever want to go back. I want everyone at mainline. The
sooner the better.
This doesn't make a lot of sense. more jobs at delta is good yes but all this is doing is transferring jobs from one owned company to another to start people over at year one pay. A lot of these regional elite people were making 14 bucks an hour because their old comair or Mesaba rate was grand fathered into regional elite. Dgs is not delta mainline...far from it. They start these people at 8 bucks an hour and top out at 865. It's a joke and will cause many people to lose houses and miss car payments while delta makes a few more bucks for the share holders. Rich get richer and the poor get poorer. There should be laws against this kind of nonsense. Also more regionals are cheaper then less for obvious reasons. Less regionals to bid on contracts means less competition and more expensive contracts.
