Alaska is an independent airline, they are not some DCI that just flies when and where DAL route managers tell them. It is their right to fly or not fly wherever they want.
BTW, the codeshare only puts about 8.6 pax on the average AK flight. If you've been watching, DAL is putting planes where they will make the most money, not necessarily where pilots think the planes should go...
