Actually it could be much more simple. At least at Eagle, we are all getting PIC types starting this month for prepartion for the new law. Each leg we fly, we log it as PIC time. It would require a change in the law but, make it much like 91.
Dont log that as PIC!!! You are not aircraft commander! That will bite you hard in the rear end when you go to interview for a major.
