Simple supply and demand. Currently you have a 1 in 20 chance on getting the job. If you're not willing to put forth the effort to get the job, then in my opinion, you don't really want it bad enough. Small sacrifices now, will pay off in the future. Where are you getting this 1 in 20 number? This past week at the interview the HR people were throwing out numbers that made the odds sound better than that.
