It’s amazing how many people in the general public think anyone that is a pilot makes alot of money. I’m embarrassed and don’t want to freak them out that the guy in the airport food court makes more than I do flying them from one place to another. I was at LAX sitting ready reserve (yay) and was talking to a passenger heading to JFK and I explained what my reserve is, he replied...must be nice to sit around making really good money?? All I could say was, no pilots don’t make alot sitting reserve.......is it me or does anyone else get this too?? Sorry, just needed a place to gripe.
The best comment I get is when I'm commuting to and from and the passenger next to me says "must be nice to be able to get a ride for free"
Ahem...this wasn't free...I paid $60k for these rides lol
