What point am I missing? I'm all for extracting as much from the company as possible via contract negotiations but there are advantages to having some efficiencies that the competition doesn't have. If you want the IPA to negoiatate that into your next contract then by all means have them do so, but if the company wants something in return what are you willing to give up?
The point you are missing is you're getting less pay, no extra time off AND less pilots behind you on the seniority list because of the "convienence" of living in ANC and using company jumpseats. Think about what you're saying.
If you still don't get it, then just trust us and do everybody a favor by keeping your mouth shut when you get hired on somewhere.
