The current drug of choice for the strains of Malaria in West Africa is Malerone. Not a single Delta crew member taking the drug has contracted malaria. At least 21 crew members not taking the drug have come down with Malaria. You normally start Malerone 2 days before going into a Malaria zone however the day before or even day off has been shown to be effective. Go to Delta net and read the info and get the prescription sent to you. Follow the guidelines given and you will be fine.
P.S. A high percentage of our malaria cases have come from what I call drunk and stupid syndrome. Falling asleep at the pool in a bathing suit at sunset from to much to drink its not a smart anti malaria strategy.
