I would think very carefully before putting my application at US Airways right now. If the merger goes through, there will be an over staffing situation (as in the case of most mergers), and ppl getting hired right now might get furloughed. Again, I may be wrong in which case one would miss getting hired in the very very beginning of a very big wave. Anyone has any Info on furlough protection clause for pilots getting hired now?
