Ft. Useless was terrible. I was pretty fortunate to have 15T instructors that were very... very good. The permanent party guys in charge of the barracks were all washouts from the instructor courses. My roommate was/is an airline pilot, so we had a lot of similar interests. Outside of Useless was absolutely gorgeous... but it was cold and snowing, hence why I live in sunny south florida
Currently, we only do EYW from RSW. A commute from RSW would be RSW-EYW-FLL/TPA-wherever. We may be adding new routes out of RSW, but nothing official has been announced yet AFAIK. And just as a heads-up, our flights in and out of EYW are usually pretty full, both on the Saab and the 1900. We're usually very close to the runway limit weight on takeoff out of EYW, even with flaps. In winter it'll be better, but most of the time we have to use flaps to get out of EYW on both types.
