I got out of army reserves in may, did some active duty prior. Habent ran into many prior service guys here. Ive thinking of going back in (but not army) to finish my 20.

For example everyone in my class had issues getting enrolled in healthcare. You are required to turn your paperwork in 30 days before your eligible, but they waited until the day before we were supposed to be enrolled to turn it in to cigna, and then they screwed it up. The HR lady stood in our class and told us the company would contribute $1000 to the HSA plan, she said it several times. When I did finally get enrolled I only got a fraction of that. I emailed her about it and she said "oh, its prorated, sorry if I wasn't clear about that" (she wasn't not clear, she intentionally sandbagged us into that plan because its cheaper for the company.) I'm STILL not enrolled in my 401k, even though I've put in weekly calls to the provider as well as HR.

Scheduling doesn't honor seniority for reserve call outs. If you call scheduling you're lucky if they answer on the 2nd try. Once they do answer expect them to talk over you and say "let me call you back" just to get you off the line. If you call someone at HQ don't expect them to answer. If you leave a message don't expect them to call you back.

Don't expect them to honor seniority when they assign bases AFTER your training is done, they'll stick you where they've got a spot and where is convenient. Even if someone junior to you ends up getting the spot you wanted.

I have worked at 2 other regionals. If you are coming here as a street captain there is maybe some excuse to put up with this kind of stuff. But with everyone being at the same minimum requirements these days... if you're going in as an FO do yourself a favor and go to the Skywest/Horizon/Air Wisconsins of the world. Not only will you get treated with more respect but the time you earn will be more beneficial to your resume.
